Sometimes we need a reality check to remind us of what is most important in life. All too often we go about our overloaded schedules at warp speed not fully realizing that the individual standing across from us may be facing a host of issues in their life. Truth is, we all carry baggage, it’s just some of us are better at hiding it than others. The following video is a wake-up call to jolt us to our every-day calling as followers of Jesus Christ.
Every time I see this video I am reminded of the deep and passionate love our Savior, Jesus Christ, has for me. This love spurs me on to see others differently, to see them how “He” sees them. When someone is touched by the love of God they cannot help but reflect it upon someone else. I would love to hear your thoughts about the video? Did it speak to you? Convict you (it certainly convicted me)? I hate to admit it, but I am that guy all too often in my life, going from place to place, attempting to meet other people’s demands and expectations of me. But at what cost? A question we need to ask is, “Who or what are we living for?” A paycheck? Our family? A job? Good grades? Out of some obligation or guilt to someone or something?
Life is more than the mere fulfillment of “our” wants and desires. There is something more, a higher calling, God invites us to take. It is called discipleship, a life of following and molding everything we are around Jesus and His will for our life, so that we can go out and disciple someone else.
I challenge you, the next time you are around people, put on your “Jesus glasses” to see them as He sees them, and live accordingly. There was a time when Jesus turned His graceful eye upon us, and He didn’t shy away, but rather took the mess we carry upon Himself as He walked the lonely road to the cross — our pain, sorrow, empathy, fear, worry, criticalness — everything! I also challenge you to look at yourself as God loves you. He cares about you with an unending love so deep and so pure, no mind can comprehend or words can fully describe its depth and breadth. Jesus love you! Think about it! Oh how He loves you, friend! Bask in His love, live in His love, share His love freely to all you see.
Our life can be summed up in these incredible words from the Gospel of John:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17)
May you know how deep and passionate His love is for you, may you be emboldened by the Holy Spirit to reflect this life-altering and earth-shattering truth to those around you, and may you personally experience every day the grace and redemption of Jesus’ cross.
Remember, no matter what stands in your path, you are loved by the one, true, and living God!
Living in the Love,
N

Hope to start a new day tomorrow. Thank’s
Thanks Fran, for the comment … every day is a new day with Christ Jesus! That’s incredible news for me, “chief sinner number”!
That video sends a powerful message and yes, it is very convicting! I am reminded recently that discipleship needs to be practiced to those closest to us in addition to others, since we can often act the ugliest around those that know us best. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the video. I will pass it on.
Thanks Donna … share away!
