What can wash away our sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.
For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:12-14, 17-21)
From the very beginning of time, as our Heavenly Father was at work creating and breathing life into all things, He had a plan in the works to bring about healing to our greatest need – the severed relationship between us and the Father caused by our sin. The cost for this healing was great, immeasurable, costly. The price was paid in full through the blood of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. He all too willingly took on His Father’s will out of love and devotion to us. Redeemed, forgiven, loved, that is what we are! Pure grace incarnate, all gift.
The following video powerfully illustrates God’s plan from the very beginning of time and how it all comes together in the hinge point of a cross, through one man, Jesus Christ.
The 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ as spoken from the cross:
Word 1 … “Father forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
Word 2 … “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
Word 3 … “Dear woman, here is your son … here is your mother.” (Luke 19:25-27)
Word 4 … “My God, my God why have You forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
Word 5 … “I am thirsty.” (Luke 19:28-29)
Word 6 … “It is finished!” (John 19:30)
Word 7 … “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit.” (Luke 23:44-47)
Amen! Come Lord Jesus, come!
